Heartfelt lyrics, a unique voice, and honest songs that resonate with listeners sums up Freddie Mojallal aka The Autumn Portrait. Having moved to Toronto from the west coast after experiencing a lost love, Freddie has been connecting with audiences with his sincere & vulnerable song writing. The Autumn Portrait’s recent sophomore release, Tired Love, a collection of honest & sincere folk songs that were all written, recorded, performed and produced in his Toronto home studio by Freddie himself. Dealing with the remnants of a love that was once so prominent in Freddie’s life made the journey of writing and recording this album very therapeutic. He would typically write a song from start to finish, record it, then walk around the city of Toronto with his headphones (usually late at night) and listen to the songs on repeat. This album was interesting to make because there was never any second guessing. The songs came out so naturally and in such a short amount of time. Freddie describes the songs from Tired Love as “sincere and emotionally raw.” Being so vulnerable with this album really allows The Autumn Portrait’s listeners to relate so easily.
The Autumn Portrait’s live show includes a full band with vocal harmonies that will warm your ears and heart. Building on momentum gained from his previous full length album The Design is Over, released in Oct 2010, Freddie and his band have toured across Canada several times, had 2 music videos featured on CMT Canada, gained commercial & college radio success including CBC Radio 3, performed at major Canadian festivals such a Canadian Music Week, NXNE, Indieweek and opened for Canada’s own, The Trews.
Tired Love displays a more vulnerable, raw and mature sound for Freddie. The Autumn Portrait has found his voice at a time where it was needed the most: a time of Tired Love.
